The hardwood care & maintenance process
Hardwood is a fairly low-maintenance flooring option so it does not require a lot of care to keep it looking pristine. It is important to establish a care routine and address spills as they occur. Follow our care and maintenance guide below.
Routine hardwood care
Establishing a routine to keep your hardwood looking beautiful is important. You may need to several times a week, or even daily, depending on how much traffic your floors receive. You can also dry mop your hardwood floors or vacuum them without the beater bar. Also, it's a good idea to place mats at entrances to help reduce the amount of dirt tracked onto your hardwood floors. For a deeper cleaning, use a manufacturer-approved solution.
Hardwood spills
Spills are inevitable, especially in homes with children or pets. When a solid spill occurs, sweep up the spill immediately. When a liquid spill occurs, wipe it up immediately with a clean cloth. You can use manufacturer-approved cleaner on it to remove any residue.
